The south side of the Main Street Bridge takes you to Aqueduct Park, a privately owned park where the public is always welcome. From the park you have a great vantage point to see the arches of the Main Street bridge as the water rolls along the riverwall below. Aqueduct Park is a favorite of office workers for a lunchtime respite and in the summer any number of nearby vendors are ready to serve up one of the best hot dogs you've ever had.

This park is built partially on the site of Barton’s Building destroyed in Rochester's Great Flood of 1875. The destruction is illustrated above. Barton’s Building is seen in the center of the top left photo, the first floor is flooded. Above right shows the rubble of it’s collapse and the building you see in the background is now known as Liberty Plaza, the next stop on our tour.
