The state-of-the-art Rochester Riverside Convention Center was completed in 1985. Over 100,000 square feet of exhibition space awaits your convention. This site has been transformed over the years from the Keeler Block, seen in 1892 above left, the Commerce Building, pictured in 1896 above right. Along side the Commerce Building was several stores and at the riverside was the Security Trust Bank seen at the extreme right of photo 4-2 at left. When the bank was demolished, it’s formidable granite columns were saved and placed on display in the rear atrium of the Convention Center.

Today it is the hub of the convention district, linked to two major hotels via the Skyway. Rochester’s Skyway system connects many landmark buildings, shopping areas and buisnesses in a network of enclosed bridges and tunnels. This handicapped accessible walkway system makes much of downtown available year-round even in the worst of weather.
